What Is Super Lawyers?
According to the Super Lawyers site, "Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement."
Super Lawyers uses a multifaceted approach to select lawyers as candidates (and eventually designate attorneys as Rising Stars or Super Lawyers, depending on where they're at in their careers):
- Nominations. Lawyers cannot nominate themselves or campaign to be nominated. Their legal peers must voluntarily nominate them.
- Independent research. Super Lawyers researchers take various factors into account, such as a lawyer's position within their firm, the community service they do, honors and awards they've received, etc.
- Peer evaluation. once the Super Lawyers organization has decided who the top candidates in eligible practice areas are, those candidates then review each other.
- Final selection. Finally, the peer evaluation determines which lawyers are recognized by the Super Lawyers organization. Around 2.5% of the candidates each year are recognized as Rising Stars, and around 5% are selected as Super Lawyers.
Receiving a nomination for the Super Lawyers program alone is an outstanding achievement. We're incredibly proud to announce that this year, our founding Attorney Autumn Blackledge was nominated by her peers and selected as a 2020 Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star.
